The text of this amulet appears in the book Rephael HaMalach, where it is written that this amulet is designated for the entrance of the house. Similar amulets were distributed by Admo”rs of Ruzhin. The amulet contains holy Names and names of angels which result from verses appropriate for protection, with the names deciphered as follows: וזפ הלא פעב ביב באמ ובה והו – ו’אמרתם ז’בח פ’סח ה’וא ל’ה’ א’שר פ’סח ע’ל ב’תי ב’ני י’שראל ב’מצרים ב’נגפו א’ת מ’צרים ו’את ב’תינו ה’ציל ו’יקד ה’עם ו’ישתחוו. [You shall say: “It is the Passover service to G-d. He passed over the houses of the Children of Israel in Egypt when he struck the Egyptians, sparing our homes.” The people bowed their heads and prostrated themselves.] והאפה הב מוג ולה – ו’את ה’אנשים א’שר פ’תח ה’בית ה’כו ב’סנורים מ’קטן ו’עד ג’דול ו’ילאו ל’מצוא ה’פתח. [They struck the men who were standing at the entrance blind – young and old alike, and they tried in vain to find the entrance.] And רדפמיאל, apparently an angel’s name. 8.5×3 cm. Ink on parchment.
