Background: Rabbi Yitzchak [Raphael Yechizkiyahu] Gagin, [c. 1860-1923] son of Rabbi Shalom Moshe Chai Gagin, rosh yeshiva of the kabbalistic yeshiva ‘Beit El, ‘ son of Rabbi Chaim Avraham Gagin, rosh yeshiva of the kabbalistic Yeshiva and the official Chacham Bashi of the Land of Israel. Scion of the kabbalist Rabbi Sar Shalom Sharabi. Author of the commentary Michse L’Ohel on Seder Ohel Moed by Rabbi Shmuel son of Meshulam Yarundi, Jerusalem, 1886-1904.
Rabbi Shem Tov Gagin (1885-1953) was a rabbi, dayan, rosh yeshiva and author. He served as a member of the Rabbinic Beit Din of the Cairo community, rabbi of the Sephardi community of Manchester, and Av Beit Din of the Sephardi community of London.
Condition: Fine-very fine. Minimal aging stains, filing holes in some of the letters.
