On the leaf before the title page is the handwritten signature and stamp of the author’s disciple the Admor Rabbi Avraham Alter Pollack, the Admor of Beregszász.
Background: Rabbi Avraham Alter Pollack [1934-2006], born in Beregszász to his father the Admor Rabbi Yosef Meir, scion of the dynasty of the Admors of Spinka, Dzikov and Zidichov. Survived the Holocaust together with his mother. In 1949 his mother married the Admor Rabbi Aharon of Belz, who promised to take care of her son’s education and marriage, and indeed Rabbi Avraham Alter grew up in his house for nine years, and the Admor took care of him, and even led him to the marriage canopy. This was only time the Admor Aharon conducted a marriage ceremony. Later, at the recommendation of the great rabbis of the generation, he established institutions in the city of Petach Tikva and served as the Admor of Beregszász-Petach Tikva.
Unique Features: Comment in his handwriting in the name of the first Admor of Belz – which he apparently heard from his step-father, the Admor Rabbi Aharon of Belz, on page 166b.
Condition: Moderate. Tear with lack in the center of the first two leaves. A number of leaves are loose and the last leaf is detached. Dismantled binding.
