The leaf before the title page bears a lengthy dedication in beautiful calligraphy on the occasion of Rabbi Yisrael Meir Greenwald’s marriage.
Rabbi Yisrael Meir Greenwald [1889-1919] was the youngest son of Rabbi Moshe Greenwald, author of Arugat HaBosem, and one of the most prominent rabbis in Hungary; patriarch of Pupa Chassidism. Rabbi Yisrael Meir passed away at a young age, when he was only about 30 years old. He was buried in Kleinwardein, Hungary.
