The book is in German, with eleven pages of introduction and indexes of hundreds of prayer passages in Hebrew. Pages 1-50 feature an explanation of the character and style of the melodies of Yemenite Jews. Pages 51 – 158 [end] feature melodies- music notes for the weekday and Shabbat, holidays, elegies, selichot, high holidays. Melodies for weddings on p. 123. 30 cm. Idelsohn had a strong affinity to the melodies of Oriental Jewry and published a number of works on the subject.
