Chiddushei Rabbeinu Yosef ibn Migash on Tractate Shevuot. Prague, 1826. With novellae and responsa by the Chatam Sofer during his lifetime. This is the first time that novellae of the Chatam Sofer were printed. All of his other works – novellae, responsa and sermons – were printed posthumously. In a letter to Rabbi Tzvi Hirsch Hayot, the Chatam Sofer wrote that these novellae were printed by a disciple – without his permission. However, “at the start it was against my will, but at the end I agreed.” Interesting owner notations and signatures.
