Chizuk Emunah by Rabbi Yitzchak son of Rabbi Avraham of Troki, Amsterdam 1705, miniature edition.
Sharp polemic work against the Christian belief, and against Christian arguments on the Jewish religion. The author responds to each and every Christian argument against Judaism, including their attempts to prove their beliefs from holy writings, their claims about the messianism of that man and more. Owner’s notation on the title page: ‘The youth Avraham Yuda Arbanzo …’
The book’s author is the Karaite scholar Yitzchak bar Avraham of Troki (Trakai, Lithuania). This is the only Karaite work that was accepted by the Jewish community, and it was even translated to Yiddish, due to its sharp criticism of the Christian religion. It was first printed by the priest Johann Christoff Wangzeil in 1681.
