Large anthology of dozens of prayers and supplications capable of bringing salvation, with Kabbalistic Names. The vast majority of the manuscript was written in the script of the senior rabbi of Germany, the tremendous gaon Rabbi Yitzchak Dov Bamberger, patriarch of the famous rabbinic family. [Würzburg, apparently written starting from the mid 18th century through the 1870s]. Singular copy!
Kabbalistic anthologies such as this one were very common, primarily in Italy and in Oriental Jewish communities. It is rare to find Kabbalistic prayers written in Central Europe. This anthology is very rare, as it is an autograph of one of the leading rabbis of Germany, and is designated for his personal use!
Individual leaves appear among the leaves in the sefer apparently written by his son, Rabbi Moshe Aryeh: ‘Transcriptions from Rabbi Moshe Yoel HaLevi’s Ettlinger of Pshach’s Shulchan Aruch [3 pp]; transcription of a letter from the wonder-worker Rabbi Eliyahu Guttmacher of Greditz on the Ram”a [1 page].
Refer to the Hebrew catalog text for a brief biography of the gaon Rabbi Yitzchak Dov Bamberger .
[62] pages handwritten by Rabbi Yissachar Dov, and another [4] pages apparently in Rabbi Moshe Aryeh’s penmanship. (There may be individual passages in the volume written by other sons of Rabbi Yissachar Dov). 15 cm. The handwriting has been identified by an expert who is very involved with the Bamberger family’s writings.
