Miniature holy ark made of silver by a craftsman.
Two doors open on hinges made of delicate filigree work, flowers and stars of David and a tiny clasp.
Three steps at the front of the ark with a decoration on top, also made of filigree work, and the Decalogue on top with engraved letters (א’, ב’) and a tiny bell at the back.
The manufacturer’s stamp and a stamp indicating the location appear at the bottom of the back of the ark.
Height: 12 cm.
Width: 6 cm.
Depth: 2.5 cm.
There is no doubt that this ark was commissioned by a high-ranking personality, as there are few miniature Torah scrolls that could have fit in an ark of this size.
Unique museum piece.
Fine condition. Breaks and dents in the filigree decoration at the top of the ark.
