Rabbi Yitzchak Chai Bukavzah (1853-1930) was the chief rabbi of Tripoli, a Kabbalist and a songwriter. Already in his youth, he wrote songs, and served as rabbi in various places. In 1925, he was appointed chief rabbi of Tripoli, its Av Beit Din, and leader of Libyan rabbis.
He was famous for visiting the Vatican cellars, where, according to rumour, he saw the Temple treasures.
