“To calm the hearts of G-d-fearing Jews” – controversial poster opposing the Admo”r Rabbi Avraham Mordechai of Gur. [Jerusalem], Shayish Press, 1927. Especially rare poster from a difficult and painful episode.
The poster was published as a result of the visit by the Admo”r Rabbi Avraham Mordechai Alter of Gur, author of Imrei Emet , to the Land of Israel. The Admo”r visited Jerusalem in 1927 and met with Rabbi Kook. This was not looked upon kindly by some residents of the city, hence these defamatory letters. This one was written under the guise of ostensibly pleasant words, but they actually contain such harsh matters that the paper cannot bear them.
