Color lithograph children’s flag for Simchat Torah. Stamped on the board: “Tzvi.” [livni]
An open holy ark with two Torah scrolls showing is in the center. On the back, there is a picture of a Menorah with the verses that are said when the Torah is taken out, and the verses for the hakafot (encirclements) of Simchat Torah.
According to the examples in the book The Flags of Simchat Torah, from Popular Jewish Art to Israeli-Hebrew Culture Land of Israel Museum, Tel Aviv, 2012, the flag before us was apparently produced in the ’40’s or the beginning of the ’50’s.
Size: 34×25 cm.
Excellent condition.
