Before us are two sheets from the book (32 pp) with handwritten comments by Rabbi Dov Aryeh Ritter of Rotterdam.
Opposing the ruling of Kuntress Havla’at HaDam by Rabbi Ze’ev Yitzchak Dunner of Cologne, a special booklet called Lichvod Amudei HaTorah . Whether the content of the notes before us is connected to this controversy has not been examined.
Rabbi Dov Aryeh Ritter (1855-1936) was the Av Beit Din of Rotterdam, one of the renowned rabbinic leaders. He served as rabbi of Rotterdam for over 40 years. He corresponded in halachic matters and public administration with rabbinic leaders from all over Europe. With his tremendous expertise, he revealed the fraudulent Talmud Yerushalmi on Seder Kadshim, and was the first to publicize the matter.
