“Avreichim from Hungary have also settled in Tifrach, including disciples of Pupa…”
Lengthy letter [approximately 21 lines!] entirely handwritten and signed by the Admo”r Rabbi Yosef Greenwald of Pupa, author of VaYechi Yosef . The letter is addressed to the gaon Rabbi Simchah Bunim David Sofer. Undated.
The letter opens with family finance issues, and later on in the letter the Admo”r requests that its recipient concern himself with supporting his brother-in-law (apparently referring to Rabbi Ephraim Fischel Sofer), and possibly also seek a Torah position for him in a religious settlement such as Gamzu or Tifrach, where “Jews and their families live lives of Judaism and Chassidism, ” and some are even Chassidim of Satmar and Pupa.
