Rabbi Michel Yehudah Lefkowitz married Rebbetzin Chavah Esther, daughter of Rabbi Avraham Yitzchak Gershonowitz, rosh yeshivah of Tiferet Tziyon. Their wedding took place in Bnei Brak on Lag BaOmer of 1940. The author of Chazon Ish was the one who suggested the match. The wedding was delayed due to financial difficulties, and took place with the Chazon Ish’s encouragement – the Chazon Ish even led the bridegroom to the wedding canopy.
