Published by Elyakim Getsel ben David Behar (1802-1875), who used the pseudonym “Elyakim Carmuli,” notes in his introduction to the book that even “if he is called Ya’akov, from the body of this brief book, it looks like it is not he who is the book’s author, but someone else.” It appears that this book is adapted by the publisher himself based on “Midrash Eser Galuyot.”
