Rabbi Silver wrote the question in his name and in the name of the Agudat HaRabbanim of America that he led and sent a facsimile print to leading Torah authorities. Rabbi Eliezer Silver was born in the Kovno district in 1882. He was one of the first talmidim of HaGaon Rabbi Chaim Ozer, av”d Vilna and learned by Rabbi Dovid Karliner and Rabbi Chaim Soloveitchik. In 1907, he moved to the United States where he served in a number of rabbinate positions, primarily dedicating himself to founding the Agudat HaRabbanim in whose framework he was very active.
