Background: Admor Avraham Elimelech Perlow of Karlin [1892-1942] was the son of Admor Yisrael “HaYenuka” of Karlin. He served as Admor beginning in 1921, after his father’s passing in Frankfurt, and was the most famous Admor of his brothers. He visited the Land of Israel a few times. His last visit was in 1939, just before the outbreak of the Holocaust. His followers tried to prevent his return to Europe, but he refused to remain, and sailed on the last ship that left the country. He was killed in the Holocaust with his progeny.
