Letter signed by Rabbi Zelig Reuven Bengis, dated: 14th of Marcheshvan, 1952, regarding kosher shechita in France for the Eidah HaCharedit in Jerusalem.
Rabbi Bengis addresses Rabbi Lichtenstein, Av Beit Din of Krasna- France because he heard that his shechita is of the highest standard. Due to the difficult situation in Jerusalem in the wake of the lack of kosher food, he wants him to send the shochet Zev Motzin with meat for slaughter for the Eidah HaCharedit in Jerusalem “and he should slaughter a quantity of meat designated for the members of the Eidah HaCharedit, and it will be under our supervision.” The margins bear the signature of Rabbi Bengis and his personal stamp.
