“May Hashem raise you ever more upward … Your faithful teacher, Yosef Tzvi Dushinsky”
Beautiful content-filled letter entirely [over 120 words] handwritten and signed by the Mara D’Ara Yisrael , the sacred gaon Rabbi Yosef Tzvi Dushinsky, from the period of his rabbinate in Galanta. Galanta, 1909.
The letter was sent to the Mahari”tz Dushinsky’s beloved disciple: “[Many honorifics] Rabbi Shimon [Blumenthal; refer to another letter about him in Winner’S catalog from Auction 140, Part II, item 223: “Mazal tov blessings from Rabbi Yosef Tzvi Dushinsky, ga’ava”d of Jerusalem, to a student”].
This letter here deals with sending the sefarim Sha’ar Yosef and Me’il Tzedakah that were sent to him by his disciple, but have not yet arrived. Mahari”tz Dushinsky writes to him, “Many days have passed since you informed me that you sent me Sha’ar Yosef and Me’il Tzedakah , yet they have not reached me – I wondered to myself if perhaps you meant to send them but have not actually done so …”
Later on in the letter, the gaon Rabbi Yosef Tzvi Dushinsky, who was known for his blessings always being fulfilled, writes abundant and wonderful sacred blessings to his beloved disciple: “May Hashem raise you ever more upward in your Divine service … to be wholly occupied with Torah all your life. I expect to hear good things from you your whole life, and hereby grant you multiple blessings. From your faithful teacher, Yosef Tzvi Dushinsky. Best regards from your father-in-law, the gaon.
