Interesting letter about a tragic incident in Jerusalem, from the renowned wonder-worker the Admo”r Rabbi Gedaliah Moshe Goldman of Zvhil – progenitor of the famous segulah, tried-and-true – to ascend to his grave Monday-Thursday-Monday. Jerusalem, 1947. Letters from him are extremely rare.
The letter appeals to the members of the Bada”tz in Jerusalem. In his letter, the Rebbe tells them about a tragic situation occurring in a certain family, one of the most prominent of Jerusalem (named in the letter), in which a woman embitters the lives of her husband and his mother, a widow, with shouts, stone-throwing (!) and banishing the husband from his home. The Rebbe asks the beit din to intervene.
The sacred Rebbe, whose word was always fulfilled, concludes his letter with blessings: “With a blessing to be inscribed and sealed for the good, kol tuv selah , Gedaliah Moshe son of R’ Shlomo … Goldman.”
Refer to the Hebrew catalog text for a brief biography of the Admo”r Rabbi Gedaliah Moshe Goldman .
After his passing, he was buried in the Givat Ram (Sheikh Bader) cemetery and his grave became a popular pilgrimage site for segulah and blessing. The rumor about the sacred grave began due to a dream dreamt by a Jew in England who was in need of salvation. The Admo”r appeared to him in his dream and told him that if he prays at his grave Monday-Thursday-Monday (in succession), the salvation he desires will arrive. He did as dictated by his dream, and his request was indeed realized. Rumor spread, and from then on, Jews awaiting salvation visit the site in this format.
