* Letter of support for the purchase of land and the transfer of the Bikur Cholim Hospital outside the Old City walls, [1908]. With an additional six lines handwritten and signed by Rabbi Avraham Yitzchak HaKohen Kook.[1] leaf, 21.5×28 cm. On the stationery of the Shaar Tzion Hospital in Jaffa, stamps of the Shaar Tzion Hospital, and stamp of Rabbi Kook, as rabbi of Jaffa and the settlements.
The hospital was founded in the Old City in 1867 by the Perushim, under the auspices of the German consulate. Although the cornerstone was laid in 1912, construction was only completed after the First World War.
* Letter of protest sent to the Bikur Cholim Hospital by the Rabbanut HaReishit, 1932.[1] leaf. 28 cm. Signature and stamps. This letter, in the name of Rabbi Kook, Rabbi Frank, and the Rabbanut HaReishit (signed by the secretary), warns the hospital administration to retract their support of the appointment of an Ashkenazic Chief Rabbi after the death of Rabbi Yosef Chaim Sonnenfeld, in opposition to the opinion of Rabbi Kook and the Rabbanut HaReishit. This letter documents the internal conflicts in Jerusalem after the death of Rabbi Sonnenfeld. He was the first rabbi of the Eidah HaChareidis, and when an attempt was made to appoint someone to succeed him, the Rabbanut HaReishit strongly opposed these efforts.
