Thick volume with sermons by an author whose identity we have been unable to determine. The writer often cites the Alshich, and Sefer Tiferet Yonatan by the gaon Rabbi Yehonatan Eybeschütz.
On the one hand, he also cites the leaders of the maskilim , Moshe Mendelsohn and Naphtali Hirz Weisel (see leaves 36-37, and on the leaves marked in Parashat Bamidbar ), which was acceptable among some of the rabbis in Germany and Lithuania (refer to Kovetz Beit Aharon V’Yisrael , 47, pp 146-149).
Handwritten notes (page 44b): “The expert in Torah … Rabbi Avraham son of Mordechai z”l Freidlander … here in Ostrova, Thursday, the fourth day of chol hamoed Sukkot 1848.”
Page 102b mentions the city of Breslau in a Yiddish notation.
Page 11b: “I heard a pleasant resolution from our master, the rabbi, the av beit din z”l.
