A large bundle of writings with hundreds of pages of different sizes, among them comments, new interpretations, notes, correction, typed Torah articles with corrections, emendations on his father’s and grandfather’s books, and much more, all handwritten by the Admor Rabbi Yochanan Sofer of Erlau.
The Admor Rabbi Yochanan Sofer was Head of the Beit Din and Rabbi of Erlau, grandfather of the current Admors. He is a descendent of the rabbinic dynasty of the distinguished Sofer family, son of Rabbi Moshe Sofer, Head of the Beit Din of Erlau and author of the responsa ”Yad Sofer, ” who was the son of the author of “Hitorerut Tshuva, ” who was the son of the author of the “Ktav Sofer.” He was saved from the fires of the Holocaust of the Hungarian Jews, immigrated to Israel and became close to the Admor Rabbi Aharon of Belz. He established great Torah institutions and a yeshiva and a publishing house named after the Chatam Sofer.
All the writings are preserved in a new, attractive cardboard box that was designed especially for the size of these papers.
