Manuscript by the chassidic Gaon Rabbi Yehonatan HaKohen, Head of the Beit Din of Lashitz, author of “Tiferet Yehonatan”- an archive of responses, letters and documents
The archive contains halachic responses, copies of responses, letters, parts of sermons, certificates of the sale of chametz, and more, by the Gaon Rabbi Yehonatan HaKohen, Head of the Beit Din of Lashitz, author of “Tiferet Yehonatan.”
Tens of pages in varying sizes, most in fine condition, Rabbi Yehonatan is signed on many.
In addition, there are replies other rabbis sent to him, such as the halachic replies from Rabbi Shalom Yitzchak Sternberg, a signed letter from the rabbis of Lodz, responses from Rabbi Moshe HaKohen Fierstein, Head of the Beit Din of Sarnik, copies of letters from chassidic masters of Sokolev, Amshinov, Ostraza and more.
There are also certificates of the sale of chametz from his son-in-law, the chassidic Rabbi Aryeh Mordecahi HaKohen Rabinowitz of Karov, who became the first Rabbi of Bnei Brak.
The Gaon of Lashitz, Rabbi Yehonatan Ibshitz, author of “Tiferet Yehonatan, ”was born in Kotzk, became a Gur chassid. He was known purifying himself in many mikvas, and for being righteous, pure and a great Torah scholar (see the preface by his above-mentioned son-law to the book “Tiferet Yehonatan, ” and also the book “Sages of Poland” pg. 446 – photographs attached.)
