Oriental script in the style characteristic of Syrian Jewry, various writers. Hebrew and Judeo-Arabic. Page 9a features a blessing for writing amulets. One who wants to write amulets should begin by saying a blessing that what he writes should be of assistance to its recipient, and all that he writes should be successful. [בא”י אמ”ה, אשר קדש שמו הגדול בעולמו… אתון שמהתא קדישין היוצאים מאלו הפסוקים, עזרו לפלוני בן פלוני שאני כותב לו, וכל מה שאני כותב לו יצליח…”.] Page 17b: “A wonderful segulah for one who wants to travel, or even within his own city, that no one should harm him that week at all, and that no sorcery, Sitra Achra, or impure spirits rule over him – During Havdalah, he should say …” Page 19a: “To the One Who sees but is not seen, write on wolfskin and wear it on you, and if you put it in the nose of the deceased, he will not enter Gehinnom, and if you put it on a person who is dying, it will extend his life another thirty days. It is also good for grace and protection …” On page 21b: “I found a small sefer small in quantity and great in quality, Sefer Toldot Adam …” Page 26a: “Take wine from within the kotel – received from the Kabbalist Rabbi Yoel ztz”l.” [27] leaves, written on both sides. Apparently several leaves are lacking, 20 cm. Overall fine condition. Artistic paper completions in the inner margins with slight damage to the text in several leaves. Usage and aging stains. New binding, simple and beautiful.
