Scroll of Esther on parchment. Within an illustrated wood case. Italy, end of the 18th – beginning of the 19th century.
The parchment is 12 cm. tall. 3 strips, 20 columns, 18 lines to a column. With a separate parchment with the blessings for the megilla, written by the same scribe. Expert scribal print, particularly nice.
The scroll is preserved within a rounded wood case with a picture of a house and trees, a woman, young man and woman in black.
The parchment and text are in very fine condition, other than light blemishes that were repaired on the first column. The text on the first two columns is slightly faded. The screw connection is weak.
