The author was a ‘tzaddik nistar’ in Prague who was an expert in geometry and other sciences. His responsa occasionally featured geometric sketches demonstrating his words. At the end of the book there are a number of pages ‘Kuntress….compiled from the books of Euclid and his colleagues, to help learn Torah in a number of places’. Geometric sketches, triangles, angles etc. He preceded the disciple of the GRA, Rabbi Baruch Schick who printed the book of Euclid in Amsterdam in 1780. With the approbation of Rabbi Yechezkel Landa, author of the “Noda B’Yehuda”.
Original, rubbed leather binding. Backstrip reinforced with tape. Impressive, colored floral endpaper on both sides of the binding. Very fine condition.
