The gaon Rabbi Chaim Shmuel HaCohen Konorti-Señor, born in Italy circa [1810]. In his youth he immigrated to Israel and settled in Tiberias and was one of the leading rabbis of the city. Served as the Rabbi of the city from [1864] until his death in [1877]. In an approbation to the sefer ‘Ma’amar Shivrei HaLuchot’ they heaped praises upon him: “The great gaon and Prince of the Torah… the glory and splendor of the generation, the famous Chassid…. Rabbi and Rosh Metivta of the holy Sephardic community in the holy city of Tiberias.” See Otzer Rabbanim 6594.
