Most of the work deals with a halachic question about the ritual status of the mikvahs in England. The author discusses many aspects of the topic at length and declares the mikvahs to be kosher. With sermons and siyums delivered by the author when he served as a rabbi in England. The author Rabbi Yisrael Chaim Deiches [1851-1937] studied in the yeshivas of Kovno and Slabodka, and was rabbi of Kudirkos Naumiestis (Širvintos) in Władysławów. In 1901 he emigrated to England and served as rabbi of Leeds. He edited the English journal Beit Vaad L’Chachamim and wrote the book Drashot Maharich .
