Our Holiday of Liberation, Program for the Holiday Party . Non-traditional haggadah of the “P. Rottenberg Counselor Seminar, in the Cyprus exile on the intermediate days of Passover, 1948.” Cyprus, without name of publisher. Stencil print with illustrations.
Rare haggadah. Current passages were inserted between the traditional haggadah texts, relating to the tense situation in 1948: “This year, our children do not go out to the fields to pick spring flowers, because death waits in the fields. This year mothers cry for their only sons and their eyes do not move to the beauty of the blossoms. This year the trees bloom alone, without people to enjoy them and bask in their shade …” Also includes the elegy: “Ashira”:” I will sing boys and girls, I sing to the shining day when peace will return to its borders. I sing for the paths that were bathed with blood and are returned to plow … the eyes that saw tears and blood and hope …” Includes an original passage beginning with the words: “Atah Yikare Lalechet.”
This haggadah is not included in Steiner’s list of kibbutz haggadot.
