Pair of lengthy and important letters handwritten by giants of the golden Hungarian dynasty – the Chatam Sofer’s family, the sacred geonim, Rabbi Akiva Sofer – the Da’at Sofer, and his son, the gaon Rabbi Avraham Shmuel Binyamin Sofer, author of Chashav Sofer . Jerusalem, 1955/1961, respectively.
* Lengthy and interesting letter (approximately 200 words) by Rabbi Akiva Sofer, author of Da’at Sofer , to his disciple, Rabbi Yehudah Dov Singer, Rabbi of Givat Shmuel, with respect to kashrut supervision at a sausage factory. The Da’at Sofer begs him to remove himself from this business – “Please, me beloved disciple, remove yourself entirely from this …” 20 Tammuz, 1955.
* Letter from his son, Rabbi Avraham Shmuel Binyamin Sofer, author of Chashav Sofer to the above Rabbi Yehudah Dov Singer, with respect to receipt of his book. He blesses him “May Hashem give you the merit … to disseminate Torah and pure fear of Heaven, undisturbed …” 1961 – approximately half a year before his passing.
