Rabbi Baruch Kahana is apparently Rabbi Baruch David ben R’ Levi Yitzchak Kahana, a prominent Safed dayan. He immigrated to the city from Vishnitz in 1837. Refer to Sh. Halevi, and Wunder’s Meorei Galicia.
