A psak din signed by Rabbi David Baba’d of Śniatyń, son of the Minchat Chinuch (and nephew of Rabbi Chayim of Sanz).
Testimony about the period of Rabbi Yaakov’s jurisidiction as Head of the Beit Din of Ramen (a disciple of Rabbi Yisrael of Rozhin who later immigrated to Safed), and other towns before coming to Safed. Additionally, it was conveyed in the testimony that in 1814 Rabbi Yaakov was admonished by Rabbi Menachem Mendel of Kasov because he objected to the Rabbi of Zhualiva, who was a disciple of Rabbi Yatzkil of Radovitch.
The content and issues related to what is written here are not very clear.
The document from 18844 are signed Rabbi Shmuel (הארין בערג), dayan and moreh tzedek from Charskov (see “Chesed L’Avraham” responsa on Choshen Mishpat, 60:24), and Rabbi Zaida Kleiger (general secretary of Vishnitz in Safed), with the handwritten approval and signature of Rabbi David Baba’d of Śniatyń.
Rabbi David Baba’d was the son of the author of ”Minchat Chinuch, ” and his mother was the sister of Rabbi Chayim of Sanz. In 1830 he was the Head of the Beit Din of Provizhna and Śniatyń. He then immigrated to Safed and served there as a rabbi there until his death in 1894. (Vander, “Meorei Galicia” Part 1, pg. 371).
