[1] postcard. 11×15 cm. In his hand and with his signature with a brown fountain pen. A number of words are scribbled over. Two stamps from Romania. The back features the addressee’s name in a different language.
Rabbi Ahron Roth, author of “Shomer Emunim” [1894-1947], was born in Ungvar and learned in the Weizen yeshiva. He later drew close to chassidut and served the Admors of Kosson, Belz, Vishnitz and others. He primarily studied under Rabbi Zvi Elimelech Shapira of Blazowa who encouraged him to serve as Admor. He attracted groups of followers in Satmar, then Beregszász and Eretz Yisrael. His focus was the observance of a lifestyle based on unique decrees, primarily in regards to purity and passionate prayer. His works include “Shomer Emunim”, “Shulchan HaTohar” and “Teharat HaKodesh”.
