Announcement of a tour by renowned Land of Israel scholar, Ze’ev Vilna’i, to Meron, Safed and more, for Lag Ba’Omer 1933.
The tour was organized by the Hitadrut’s Moetzet Poalei Yerushalayim, for the Jerusalem workers, and set out from the Lemel school of Jerusalem. The tour included, inter alia, Friday prayers at the tomb of Rabbi Meir Ba’al HaNes, Shabbat in Safed, and participation in the Hilullah of Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai on Motzaei Shabbat. Each participant was required to bring supplies for the day, two blankets and an electric light (flashlight). The poster was printed by Co-op HaPoel HaTzair, Tel Aviv.
Ze’ev Vilna’i (1900-1988) was one of the most prominent scholar of Land of Israel, geographer and historian. He was involved in lectures and guided tours of the Land of Israel already from the 1920s. He was one of the most important tour guides of the Land of Israel.
