Sefer Pri Chadash al Shulchan Aruch Orach Chaim V’Hilchot Gittin M’Even HaEzer is the renowned work by the mighty gaon Rabbi Chizkiyah di Silva, known through the generations by the name of this sefer . This fundamental work is continually cited in halachic literature. Karlsruhe, Johannes Ludwig Yakub Held Press, 1757. The sefer is adorned with an approbation from the country’s gedolim – Rabbi Shmuel Hillman , av beit din of Metz and Rabbi Netanel Weil, av beit din of Karlsruhe, author of Korban Netanel . Two owner’s signatures appear on the title page: “LaHashem HaAretz U’Meloah bought for … HaK’ Itzik Grosshaber” and “Itzik Grosshaber” – these are signatures by the mighty gaon Rabbi Yitzchak Itzik Grosshaber, av beit din of Paks, one of the leading disciples of Rabbi Yechezkel Landau, author of Noda BiYehudah . Rabbi Itzik gifted this sefer to his son, Rabbi Moshe, as attested in the latter’s signature: “Gifted to me by my father and teacher, HaK’ Moshe son of Rabbi Itzik …”
All along the sefer there are about forty glosses, including some very lengthy ones, with approximately [120] words in a single gloss! It appears that the glosses are also in Rabbi Itzik’s penmanship. Several of the glosses mention various works by his rabbi, the author of Noda BiYehudah .
