Shu”t Beit HaRidba”z , by the renowned gaon Rabbi Ya’akov David av beit din of Slutzk – the Ridba”z. Jerusalem, 1908. First edition. Beautiful [5-line] dedication on the title page handwritten by the Ridba”z to the bridegroom “Nachum b”r Yitzchak Shu”b.” The approbation is dated “Av, 1908” – the year the sefer was printed. Despite the Ridba”z’s renown, sefarim of his with an author’s dedication are not common.
Final sefer printed by the Ridba”z in his lifetime. In the author’s introduction at the beginning of the sefer entitled [Hebrew] “Introduction by the author, words coming from a broken heart” includes memoirs from his life and activities in Russia and then in the United States. This introduction has historic significance, and in it he refers to the American rabbis (obviously not all of them) as “dedicated emissaries of Satan.” The author’s will is printed on the final page (while he was still alive).
