Rav Peninim – works printed by Rabbi Yosef Teomim, author of Pri Megadim – both his father’s and his. Includes: Nofet Tzufim and Meirat Einayim by Rabbi Meir Teomim and Teivat Gama by Rabbi Yosef Teomim. There is a separate title page for Teivat Gama. This copy does not include “Shoshanat HaAmakim.” In Nofet Tzufim (leaf 29b) Rabbi Meir Teomim mentions the Ba’al Shem Tov: “I saw that the Chassid from the Holy Land Rabbi Gershon, n”y, wrote to his famous brother-in-law the Ba’al Shem Tov, Rabbi Yisrael, n”y, and z”l, and when I came to the Holy Land, to Jerusalem, built with all goodness, I fell on my face and cried and said, Jerusalem is compared to a widow. How does she wear finery in the days of her widowhood, if only I could see her in her destruction …” Rabbi Meir wrote these words during the lifetimes of the Ba’al Shem Tov and his brother-in-law Rabbi Gershon of Kitov, as can been seen by the fact that he referred to them with references used for people among the living, n”y (נרו יאיר). However, when the book was being prepared for print by the son, the author of Pri Megadim, the Ba’al Shem Tov and his brother-in-law had already passed away. However, the son did not desire to change what his father had written. [2] 80 leaves, 20 cm. Stefansky Chassidut 532. Fine condition. Light restoration to the title page and to two leaves.
