Responsa, a small part of a manuscript by Rabbi Shaul Zelig HaCohen Meyerov Av Beit Din of Dünaburg (Dvinsk). An extraordinarily rare booklet.
Specifications: 49, 53-55, 50-53 pages. 30 cm. Faulty pagination.
Unique Features: The title page bears the stamp of Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Osovsky, Av Beit Din of Slabodka. Published by the author’s grandson Moshe Yehuda Apet, with a few comments from the transcriber Rabbi Elchanan HaCohen, Av Beit Din of Dvinsk. An extremely rare booklet. Not in the National Library.
Background: The booklet before us contains only twelve responsa. About a year after the publication of this book, another grandson printed a work in Vilna that included all of the responsa printed here along with additional, newer responsa. Interestingly, the publication of the booklet before us is not mentioned in that book. We have not found an explanation to this puzzle; perhaps they were unaware of this publication? Perhaps they were angry with the grandson who published it without permission?
Condition: Moderate. Detached leaves. Slight tears, primarily in the margins. Simple, damaged binding.
