The author (1841-1926) served as rabbi in Tseikine, Russia, and then immigrated to the United States. In his introduction, he copies the approbation sent by Rabbi Eliyahu David Teumim [the Aderet] and writes about the approbation he received from Rabbi Yitzchak Elchanan of Kovno.
The endpaper features a pasted letter printed by the author, with blank space for added details. In this copy, the author writes a lengthy note that he is gifting this book to a prominent person in New York, R’ Nissen b”r Meir Zatzanovitch. On the bottom of the leaf, he notes the titles of additional books that he included with the gift. The author’s stamp is in English.
Simple, blemished, loose binding. The first colored jacket title page is detached. The book is in very fine condition.
