Emet U’Shalom – Nahar Shalom – Rechovot HaNahar . Salonika, 1806. First edition of the three primary Kabbalistic works by the G-dly Kabbalist Rabbi Shalom Sharabi – the Rasha”sh HaKadosh, the greatest Kabbalist after the Ar”i HaKadosh.
Before us, as stated, are the principle Kabbalistic works by the Rasha”sh. Including the three books in it: 1) Emet U’Shalom 2) Nahar Shalom 3) Rechovot HaNahar . Almost the entire work is printed here for the first time, except for a small part that was previously printed. After the Rasha”sh published these novellae of his before us, Kabbalists ceased using the simple meanings of the Ar”i’s intentions, as had been done until that time, and they started intending in their prayers as written by the Rasha”sh (per his understanding of Kitvei HeAr”i ). Kabbalistic tradition relates that before the Ar”i’s passing, he informed his disciples that he would return in another incarnation to this world, in order to teach that which he did not manage to teach in his short life. Kabbalists tend to believe that his intent was the Rasha”sh HaKadosh.
We will point out that in light of the centrality and importance of the book before us to Kabbalistic doctrine, two of the most famous Kabbalists’ yeshivahs were named for these books: Rabbi Shaul HaKohen Dweck’s Rechovot HaNahar, and Rabbi Mordechai Sharabi’s Nahar Shalom.
