Manuscript – large collection of dozens of hymns and poems by leading Jewish poets. Typical Persian script, beautiful and orderly. Written by two different writers. [Persia], 1874.
The manuscript is signed on page 38a: “Written by me, the copyist … the youth Shaul Ben Avraham, Sunday, 2 Iyyar, 1874. Additional signature on page 31a by another writer: “Chaim Bar Shaul, writer.” One hymn is written in Judeo-Persian. Interesting comments and sayings appear alongside several piyyutim (“כל פירוש צרפתאיי השלך לאספתא, חוץ מפרשנדתא” וכדו’).

Varying conditions: The first leaves are in moderate-fine condition; most of the book’s leaves are in fine-very fine condition. Stains. Few worming perforations in the first leaves. Tears in the middle of the leaves [30-31] on the text, without lack. Smudges and ink stains.
