“May Hashem be at my side so that my joy influences for the good and brings salvation”
Glorious historic-Chassidic letter, calligraphically signed by the founder of the Otinya dynasty, Rabbi Chaim Hager, son of the Imrei Baruch of Vizhnitz, and sent to the renowned gaon Rabbi Meshulam Roth, av beit din of Chernowitz. [Otinya, Galicia], 28 Menachem-Av, with no year indicated.
As stated, this is an extraordinarily rare and sacred Chassidic letter, an invitation in which two sacred brothers, sons of the Imrei Baruch of Vizhnitz, make a match. The sacred gaon of Otinya marries off his daughter, Blima Raizel, to his younger brother, the rebbe Rabbi Yechiel Michel of Horodenka.
It is known that sacred ancestors descend from Heaven to attend their descendants’ weddings, especially a wedding like this one, in which two of the Imrei Baruch’s sons make a match. The bridegroom was his beloved son, who he did not have the privilege of escorting to the wedding canopy. The Rebbe blesses him with important blessings upon this joyous occasion: “May Hashem be at my side so that my joy influences for the good and brings salvation to us and the entire Jewish people. [Signed, ] the youth Chaim, son of the tzaddik of blessed memory.”
