List of the rabbis and distinguished members of the Marrakech community who went out to greet “The holy one, the light of Israel and its holiness, the crown of the glory of Israel, Sir Moshe son of Eliyahu Montefiore” upon his arrival in Morocco to thwart the blood libel in 1864.

Background: In 1864, the Jews of Morocco were in great danger due to a libel that the Jews in the city of Safi poisoned a Spanish tax collector. Four Jews were arrested and the Spanish deputy consul demanded they be executed. Two were indeed killed and Montefiore, after extensive efforts, succeeded in securing the release of the remaining two.
