Notebook of Torah novellae handwritten by the mighty prodigy Rabbi Moshe Finkel, son of the Alter of Slabodka, one of the rabbis of the Slobodka yeshivah, and thereafter at the Knesset Yisrael-Chevron yeshivah.
The gaon Rabbi Moshe Shmuel Shapira relates that Rabbi Chaim Brisker said about Rabbi Moshe as follows: ‘A prodigy such as this – I have never met”!!
His study partner, the gaon Rabbi Yechezkel Sarna, said that he can attest that when he studied at the yeshiva in Slobodka over the course of about two years, R’ Moshe thought of all the novellae of the Acharonim on each topic, without seeing their words!
Passages from here were printed in the book Chiddushei Batra (Jerusalem, 1990) p. 55.
