Inscription on the front: ‘לשנה טובה תכתבו, שנת שחרור וגאולה, אטליה תש”ו’ [‘May you be Inscribed for a Good Year, a Year of Liberation and Redemption, Italy 1945’] with a picture of a bird holding a olive leaf in its mouth. 7×11 cm. The card was used – writing on the reverse. Filing holes.
* ‘Shana Tova’ card from the First Camouflage Company, Royal Engineers, Central Mediterranean Forces – Italy, Rosh HaShana eve, 1944. Impressive illustration of a star of David with an imaginary animal figure composed of a wolf combined with a sheep, (according to the verse relating to world peace in acharit hayamim [messianic times] ‘וגר זאב עם כבש’ [‘The wolf will live with the sheep’]) in its center. 6×10 cm. The envelope in which the card was sent is included.
