Many photos and sketches of better and less known synagogues made of wood in Poland, Ukraine and Russia, including small villages in these countries. Wood synagogues were primarily built in these European countries, and most were built by Jews after they managed to get permits from the government. Most of them were burnt down by the Nazis during the Second World War. Includes tens of photos of synagogues, blueprints and colored folded map. Cardboard binding covered with original cloth.
