Rabbi Chaim Yitzchak Algazi, Av Beit Din of Izmir – author of Derech Etz HaChaim (Salonika, 1804) and Ein Yemin (Salonika 1817). He was a son of Rabbi Yehudah Algazi, author of Sha’ar Yehudah; and successor of the author of Chikrei Lev. He was eulogized by Rabbi Rephael Ashkenazi in his book Mar’eh HaGadol (Part II folio 97b).
Rabbi Rephael Ashkenazi, Av Beit Din of Izmir – author of many important works: Mar’eh HaGadol, Mar’eh Einayim, and Mar’eh HaNogah. He was a son of Rabbi Yehudah Ashkenazi, Av Beit Din of Izmir and author of Yad Yehudah. He was the father of Rabbi Nissim Avraham Ashkenazi, author of Nechmad L’Mar’eh and more.
Rabbi David Amado [1773-1832] was an Izmir rabbi, a primary disciple of the author of Chikrei Lev, and author of Tehillah L’David and Einei David.
