Beit Aharon. Hasidut on the Order of the Torah and the Festivals, by the Admor, Rabbi Aharon of Karlin. Brody, 5435 [1875]. Ancient edition of the first edition. [4] 316 [6] pages, 24 cm. Hassidic thoughts on the Torah and the Festivals, enunciated notes and letters from the Admorim of the Karlin Dynasty: Rabbi Aharon “the Great” of Karlin, his son, Rabbi Asher, his son, Rabbi Aharon “the Second,” and his son, Rabbi Asher “the Second.” This book is the copy mentioned in the article of Harav Avraham Avish Shor, On the Manner of Writing and Printing the Holy Books of Beit Aharon in the pamphlet Beit Aharon V’Yisrael, Year 6, Edition A (31) page 139-147. According to the article, this is a surviving copy of the ancient edition of the first edition, from which survived only a few volumes. On the title page a line is missing: producing pearls ….holy man of G-d. Behind the title page, there is no approval of the censor, and it is printed: to be certain and to reveal that there are 410 approbations from the [Torah] Greats of the Generation not [!] to print this holy book, but not to display them here.” This mistaken version, as was expanded on in the aforementioned article, was not printed at the regular edition. Also the annotations inside the book which are indicated with an asterisk which are listed in the aforementioned article, are found in this volume. There is a deletion on leaf 147, which they were concerned would serve as a goading tool in the dispute between Hasidim and Mitnagdim. In this volume, there is no first section title page, and perhaps in this early edition it was not printed at all, or was printed only in some of the copies. New binding. Refurbished title page, in the white margins. Moth holes in particular in the white margins. In good condition. Staphenski, Hasidut 82.
